A recent survey estimated that the average dog owner will visit the vet two-three times a year and spend an average of two hundred dollars. Pet owners who have cats will spend a little bit less. That estimate is for the normal routine stuff like sterilization (spaying or neutering), vaccinations, worming, and a heartworm test; you’re normally in and out of the veterinarian’s office in approximately fifteen minutes. It’s hard to imagine what the trip to the veterinarian’s office would cost if your pet was suffering from a really serious medical problem such as benign tumors or a broken leg.

Approximately three percent of pet owners in the United States have decided that the best way to deal with financing their pets vet bill is to purchase pet health care insurance. Pet health care insurance is similar to human health care insurance. The pet owner pays a monthly premium and when the pet has to go to the veterinarian’s office the insurance company will pay a certain percentage of the bill minus the deductible.

Before a pet owner purchases a pet health care plan they need to get some estimates/quotes on various plans. Before the pet owner goes online to find a quote they need to grab a pad of paper and write down two things. The first thing they need is a wish list of the type of pet health insurance coverage you would like to get. This list can include things like prescription coverage, low deductibles, dental, annual checkups, spaying and nueturing, declawing and anything else you can think of. It is important to remember that you may not be able to find a pet health insurance plan that will have everything you want, circle the items that you simply can’t live without. The second thing you need to write down is what is the most you can spend each month on your pet’s health insurance plan. Keep this number close by so you don’t splurge on an insurance plan you won’t be able to afford.

Now do a couple internet searches to find all the names of pet health insurance companies. Go through the list and find all the companies that have health insurance plans that are compatible to your wish list and seem to be in your budget. Try to narrow the list down to the five most likely possibilities.

Now that you have five health insurance companies that seem like real possibilities go to their quote section on the webpage. Follow the instructions and enter all of your pet’s pertinent information. If the quote is satisfactory its time to proceed to the next step. Call your pet’s veterinarian and ask the clinic will accepts this particular brand of insurance. If the vet clinic you use doesn’t accept insurance from that company move to your next possibility. You’ll probably have a harder time finding another good vet then another pet health insurance company. Now all you really have left to do is to talk to the pet insurance companies representative.

By: Jay Schindler

About the Author:

There are resources plentiful for what to do when you lose a loved one and what exactly the typical grief process is. However, there are very few resources on how to deal with the loss of a pet. Losing a pet for many is often as tragic as losing a member of the family because for many of us, our pets are members of our family. At Jewelry Keepsakes, we are all pet lovers as well as pet owners and we understand the immense amount of grief you feel when having lost a pet. There are many factors that contribute to the number of days or months of grief and sorrow that you will struggle to overcome. For some, it is not only dealing with the loss of a pet but also the guilt they feel over having to make the decision to euthanize their pet or not having noticed the symptoms of a sick pet or not making the right decision at the right point in time. There are methods and ways to memorialize the impact your pet had on your life such as pet memorial jewelry by Jewelry Keepsakes.

When you lose a pet, the feelings can completely overwhelm you. Jewelry Keepsakes talks to hundreds of customers each week that have lost pets and are devastated by the loss. The disbelief of having lost an animal that was an integral part of your daily life can be initially very difficult to grasp. Second to follow is typically anger. It never seems fair to lose a pet that you cherished and often times it hits you much harder than you anticipate. How could such a thing happen to me? I was a great pet owner and truly love my pet and it just isn’t fair. No matter the age of the animal or the circumstances surrounding their death – it hurts just the same. Our pet cremation jewelry at Jewelry Keepsakes can help you begin the healing process.

There are many ways of coping with the grief and anger that you feel. For some, writing their emotions on paper is very helpful. Maybe you choose to write a letter of good-bye to your pet and send them a fond farewell. Speaking with a veterinarian that understands your loss and your anger and that treated your pet may bring a measure of comfort. And, much like when you lose a human that you loved, relying on friends and family will often times help during this difficult period. Purchasing a beautiful heart with paw cremation keepsake by Jewelry Keepsakes is a wonderful way to say your good-bye but still keep your pet with you. It is hard to accept that regardless of what we may or may not have done, the end was inevitable because it is human nature to ask what if. One step is to recognize the guilt for what it is and to forgive yourself. Set your guilt free by purchasing a sterling silver dove urn pendant by Jewelry Keepsakes and engraving it with your pet’s name to commemorate the joy they brought you.

There are many fabulous ways to pay tribute to the pet that you have lost. It is so important to have a positive memory of your pet. Displaying a photo memorial of your pet is a wonderful way to keep them alive in your memory. Writing a poem that expresses your gratitude for their endless adoration and devotion is not only an outlet for the grief but also a tangible reminder of your beloved animal. Cremation jewelry for pet commemoration has become increasingly popular. Retailers such as Jewelry Keepsakes have beautiful cremation jewelry pendants that will actually hold a small tribute to your pet. This tribute can be cremated ashes, a small amount of fur or even some ground from where you buried your pet. Pet memorial jewelry by Jewelry Keepsakes creates a day-to-day accessory that allows you to keep your pet with you on your terms. There is no replacement for the pet that you lost but time will heal all wounds and, when the time is right, often times a new pet will fill the void and help you create cherished new pet memories.

By: sumeetha Gowda

About the Author:

Pet lovers always consider their pets as important family members and hence they want their pets to be well groomed and clean. You have many grooming services available for your pet. When your pet is not groomed regularly, pets’ hair and dander causes allergies to humans. Pet grooming during winter and fall seasons is very important, as you will be restricted to your residence for a longer period. A regular pet-grooming program ensures good health for your pet.

One of the common pets grooming service is regular bath to your pets. As a pet owner, you should show great care for bathing your lovely pet. Before making your pet ready for bath you have to collect all your pets’ bath supplies like shampoo, bucket, hair dryer and towel for grooming after bath. Bathing provides them comfortable and warm temperature. Bathtubs will be easy for pets to take bath and you can splash water all over its body. Washing your pets can be done with a hose along with sprayer and you can rub over smoothly with your hand. Pets will love this. There are pet grooming gloves available that help in scrubbing your pet.

You can provide your pets light-handed massage during bath as most of the pets enjoy massage during bathing practice. Pet shampoos are available in different varieties like medicated shampoo, scented shampoo etc. You should choose the best shampoo that suits your pet and shampoo choice depends upon the climatic season. After shampoo, apply a conditioner so that it protects the pet’s coat from allergens. Never use the shampoo and soap together for your pet as it may cause skin irritations and problems to them. You can get suggestions from pet grooming trainers for choosing the best bathing items that will be needed for your pet.

While washing the pets’ body, brushing their teeth can also be done. After every bath you should rinse their paws and ears with a smooth towel to remove the extra moisture. For pet grooming, you can use hair dryers but the settings of the dryer should be medium for pets. To add more style to your pet, you can use hairbrush.

The following are the advantages you may attain with regular pet grooming:

Dead dander, hair and other debris will be removed when you thoroughly brush and wash your pet. This also helps to remove the odour from the pet’s body. Regular brushing ensures increase in blood circulation in your pet because of massaging movements. Air circulation is increased and the skin is clean, free from allergies and diseases. Pet grooming aids in removing mites, ticks, fleas etc. and makes the coat shine with good health. By rubbing and massaging the pet you will know better of its comfort zones. While grooming, you can also feel and detect any lump or any unhealthy body condition in your pet that was not visible to your naked eyes.

You need to have a lot of patience while doing pet grooming, as it is a time consuming activity. Pet grooming gives you a chance of spending more time with your pet and creating a close bond between the pet and yourself. When the pet realizes the care you take for grooming it, the pet will feel more secured in your hands.

By: David Hensley

About the Author:
