What are the ups and downs of having a saltwater aquarium?
I want to make a tank of sea water, what are the drawbacks with her major, the amount you have to clean, difficult to maintain, like this. I would also like to hear your suggestions on the kits under $ 500 and books that could help me.
The main "problem" is that salt water has much less room for error. You must follow the water changes and make sure that the parameters of the game. In addition, unless you have the filtered tap water, you must purchase and install a RO / DI kit (for large configurations) or run to the store and buy RO / DI water to mix with the salt barrier. In addition, it takes much more into a saltwater to freshwater. In freshwater, most people cycle an aquarium with sharp, while in salt water, people tend to cycle the tank with live rock. Cycling in the sea water takes longer than in fresh water, and also passes more blooms. It takes about 6 months to stabilize the system enough for you to add delicate fish. The worst of the salt water however, is the price of things. Not only need more equipment, you need better equipment. One fish live rock installation is the easiest, but you can not keep corals, anemones. Then, in addition to the tank and filter, you need to maintain Powerheads moving water (~ $ 15-40 each, depending on the size, and usually it takes more than one) and a skimmer ($ 80-200 for a good person, not nano). Rock Live, in itself, costs ~ $ 8/lb. and you need water ~ 1.5/lb/gallon. Most people recommend live sand is not cheap if you need to several pounds. Finally, you need to fluorescent light, which is not too expensive, but a gallon 40 years, still looking to spend about $ 100 2 strips for light and 80 W of light. If you ever want to upgrade to a reef aquarium, which will save hundreds – even thousands – of dollars for a nice t-5 or light metal halide, because corals need light. Fish and shrimp were not too expensive, but still 2.3 times the price of freshwater fish. The clown fish the most common false percula (also fish called Nemo) are widely available and can be high in ponds and still costs ~ $ 25/fish. A pair typically costs about $ 100. Easily Kills a cost of $ 70-150 a piece. If you Looking to spend under $ 500 TOTAL, then I suggest a system of nano FOWLR. It is not easy, and you should do research and put in much time and attention in the tank. Try to get good deals on used products (such as craigslist.com) and can probably put 10 to 20 gallons installation system. However, be doubly sure you know what you're getting, as the nano is even more difficult than the larger configurations of water salt. And if you mess up, it will be expensive anyway. A popular book (which I confess, too) is the conscientious aquarist Marine Robert Fenner. Start there, and visit many different Internet forums. Talking to people about what they are planning (ie, facilities, equipment, livestock, maintenance plan) and those who have much more experience will be able to say what they are good ideas and what does not work.

Christina Aguilera $3.51 Like fellow former Mickey Mouse clubber Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera kicks off her debut album with a teen-lust nugget–in this case, the No. 1 single “Genie in a Bottle”–that the rest of the disc can’t possibly live up to. Aguilera has a strong voice, but patterns herself after iffy role models such as Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey. Aside from “Genie,” most of this music is straight fro… |

Free Yourself $5.48 Few would accuse Fantasia of a reluctance to abide by the wisdom that what you’ve got, you should flaunt, and the vocal gusto she slathers over her full-length debut gets partial credit for earning–and keeping–your attention. To a greater extent, though, the high-wattage help heaped over the Idol 3 champ and Patti LaBelle-sound-alike makes the disc dazzle. In addition to pitch-ins from Missy Ell… |

Breathe $1.46 From the suggestive series of photos in the CD’s packaging to the aerobicized dance-floor workouts within, Faith Hill refuses to concede an inch of crossover dominance to Shania Twain. Except for a seductive duet with husband Tim McGraw on “Let’s Make Love” and an occasional pinch of fiddle or steel guitar, there’s little here to characterize Hill as a country artist. As pop, the results range fro… |
